Extraordinary party

Extraordinary party

The yachties sail from Simon’s Town to Jamestown on 22 December, enjoying about 10 days on the open seas. When they get there, it starts with a mug of whiskey for the competing yachties followed by five days of partying on the island. That’s five days of deep sea fishing, hiking and generally enjoying the hospitality that St Helenians are renowned for.

On Tuesday, 27 November, St Helena’s Governor His Excellency Mark Capes and his contingent were at the False Bay Yacht Club, Simon’s Town to collect the Governor’s Cup and take it back to Jamestown for later presentation to the winner. KykNET breakfast programme Dagbreek and various other mainstream media were there to record the occasion, providing St Helena with fantastic media coverage.

In the evening, the Governor and members of his team, including Julian Morris, CEO of St Helena Economic Development, attended a function at Pam Golding’s head office in Bishopscourt where potential investors (hotel groups, property companies, tourist operators) enjoyed a magnificent evening.

All part of a day for Sherpa’s PR team – in truth, this was an extraordinary day which not only achieved our client’s objectives, but was really enjoyed by our team!
