We ran a Facebook and radio campaign for our pharmacy clients and were amazed at the results.
The campaign was to support a smoking cessation campaign, asking non-smokers to encourage “smoking” family, friends and colleagues to quit. They simply had to “like” the page to indicate their caring for somebody close to them. Many went a step further and challenged or encouraged specific people to quit. Unexpectedly, the majority of conversation or “pleas” came from smokers desperate to give up and looking for help. Assistance came in the form of helpful advice and of course, referring them to their nearest pharmacy. We attracted 12 000 “likes” in a week.
The campaign also involved extensive coverage on radio, with our client’s chairman Sham Moodly and CEO Jackie Maimin being interviewed on radio stations such as 5FM, Radio Metro and Lotus.
